SARtacs is an organisation which offers consultancy and training services in emergency response and search and rescue. Search and Rescue response has in some cases been organised for nearly 200 years, but it was only in the latter half of the 20th Century when a global momentum was established to structure and co-ordinate the response to accidents and disasters at sea or in the air.

Consultancy Services

SARtacs offers consultancy services to assist in navigating through the fast moving advances in technology and procedure. Building a new or developing an existing Search and Rescue Organisation or Co-ordination Centre? It is always worthwhile to learn from the experience of others before taking those first important steps. The world of search and rescue has become a complex and expensive environment in which to operate, with a wide range of communications and IT systems available. In addition, through the auspices of, for example the IMO and ICAO, the world is converging on emergency response procedure which continues to evolve as new techniques are discovered.

Training Services

The training services offered by SARtacs focuses on the core competences required for rescue co-ordination centre officers and senior crew of SAR assets. SAR officers may be experienced mariners or airmen, who may have state of the art equipment in support of them, however, training should not be overlooked. The majority of mistakes are made by humans, and therefore training is a critical ingredient in the search for excellence.
